Renegade slash is a common move much like Horizontal, Vertical, Diagonal, and Slant. The only Exception is that rengade slash is purple and will pierce through any shield type barrier on first hit. it is a 2 hit move on which the second attack is just reversing the movement. It could be Horizontal, Vertical, Diagonal, or Slant. Saito made up the move, after countless trial and error he was able to perfect it.
